My Job is NOT my Life

That's what I hope reality of it would be. But its not. Why? Because I spent do many hours working. Normal work hours plus the many many hours of night conference calls.
People ask, why not just leave the job and find something better.
I wish I could but I need the money.  And if some people hear you say that, they will obvious say, well you have a choice, you just choose not to take up that choice.
I always find its easy for someone just provide that lip service, when I am the one who needs to live with the consequences, if i were to take that leap.

I do not have children of my own but I do support my orphan niece and nephew thru college.  Its tough.

i dont know what i am going to do but i just have to hang in there for another 4 years while the youngest finishes college.

But i would need to start planning how I am going to live my retirement later on in life as i have no children to depend on.

Life.... the never ending obstacles....

Whoa... Jan 2018 already

Looks like I have been neglecting this blog.
Since 2018 is a good number for the chinese, probably I should start blogging again. Unfortunately, the blogger app on Iphone no wonder works on IOS 7.  :(

Leaving you with a picture from my latest travel trip to AMS-PARIS-Lourdes.  This is Delft in the Netherlands.

Musings... Much about nothing.

Long Long ago when first started the blog it was all about being part of the band wagon. Some of my close friends had blogs too and it was fun reading them. Over time the number of folks I know or whom I follow on blogs dwindled. Some for years there were no updates.

Am I one of them? Probably getting there.... Not so much of disinterest though. It's more of being lazy.

I spent many hours working due the nature of my job and being in a Global organization and having team members across different time zones.  When I get home, I really do feel lazy to do anything.  My night conference calls can being as early at 7.30pm (Singapore time) to about 10-11pm.  This is the addition to the normal working hours I put in during the day.  I do leave slightly earlier to make it home for the night meetings but overall i would say i work about 12-13 hours a day.

People might say, it's about working out the work life balance. But let me tell you over time, I being to believe that its all a total farce.  You need the job esp. in these trying times when the company is releasing folks and also  I obviously need the money.  But i have to say though, some times I wonder is the job that important in my life?  Can I scale down on certain things and earn lesser and yet be happy?  I don't have any answers to those questions yet even though I have been asking myself that for years.

20 years in the working world, is that enough? It sure feels like I am ready to retire.

WOW ... long time

Its been a long time.
I should get back to blogging.

I have to say with the downturn of economy and all the bad news one hears daily, its hard to keep positive and write positive stuff.

I myself have been sucked into the stressful cycle of trying to stay afloat in my current job.... working 10-12 hours day.

A long time it has been...

Looking at the last posting date it hs been more than a year. Its been an down side turn in my life since taking on a management role. Hardly have timefor myself hence blogging has taken a back seat.
I do doubt I have any readers ledt. Probably just blogging for my own sake

Today i woke up still having the unbearable headache which has been lingering since 2 weeks ago. Eventhough I have been on medication since september 2009, thhis has been the worse year where my readings sky rocketted. Doctor is considering to change my meds. This month will be the last doze of this old meds if the reading doesn't improve.

Worklife balance has been zero so I would need to really find a solution to detach myself from work
